Base Salary
$95k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture decisions for new and existing web platforms, including microservices, data pipelines, and UI/UX.
- Write production-ready, test-driven full-stack code using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
- Mentor engineers and establish engineering standards through code reviews, automated testing, and delivery practices.
- Partner with program officers, product owners, technical leads, customers, and stakeholders to define requirements, roadmaps, and delivery milestones.
- Represent the team in program reviews, stakeholder meetings, and client demonstrations.
- Drive performance tuning, security hardening, operational excellence, and mitigation of program and system-level technical risks.
- Lead system architecture, delegate tasks, collect design feedback, and independently drive solutions to complex or ambiguous problems.
- Act as a subject matter expert and lead a medium-sized multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Prepare technical documentation, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other deliverables.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in software engineering or a related field; the role also specifies 7+ years of full-stack development experience and at least 2 years leading architecture decisions.
- Proven record of delivering production-grade web applications at scale.
- Strong proficiency with React, TypeScript, CSS-in-JS, Node.js/Express, Python, and Java.
- Deep understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication and authorization, OAuth, OIDC, and cloud-native patterns.
- Experience with Jira, GitLab, and GitHub Actions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; a master's degree is preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience, deployments on AWS, GCP, or Azure, Terraform or CloudFormation, serverless architectures, event-driven designs, and high-availability multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Applicants must obtain and maintain a government security clearance; Secret clearance is desired and Top Secret clearance is preferred.
- Ability to lead architecture, solve complex customer-driven problems, communicate across multidisciplinary teams, and manage competing priorities.
