Responsibilities
- Drive practical AI adoption across requirements, architecture, coding, code review, testing, debugging, documentation, refactoring, and maintenance.
- Partner with software engineers and architects to identify engineering challenges and create AI-enabled pilot solutions.
- Use AI extensively in daily engineering work and demonstrate measurable improvements in productivity and quality.
- Mentor and coach software engineering teams through workshops, coaching sessions, and knowledge sharing.
- Establish responsible AI-assisted development guidelines and integrate repeatable workflows into engineering processes.
- Evaluate emerging AI development tools, models, frameworks, agentic approaches, and locally hosted or open-source LLMs.
- Champion AI-first engineering while safeguarding quality, security, maintainability, and business value.
- Act as the technical point of contact for AI-assisted software development and help build sustainable internal AI capabilities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with AI or Generative AI technologies, or equivalent recent and demonstrable experience applying AI extensively in real-world software engineering.
- Strong hands-on expertise in modern software development, architecture, design patterns, APIs, cloud-based systems, testing, and engineering practices.
- Practical experience with AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent tools.
- Demonstrated projects where AI measurably improved development speed, quality, automation, or engineering outcomes.
- Experience mentoring senior and junior engineers and influencing teams without formal authority.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical communication skills.
- Pragmatic, hands-on approach balancing innovation with quality, security, maintainability, and business value.
- Curiosity, willingness to experiment, and drive to learn emerging AI technologies.
- Experience with LLM ecosystems such as Anthropic/Claude or OpenAI, prompt and context engineering, AI agent workflows, LLM integration, locally hosted or open-source LLMs, AI coding standards and governance, or AI transformation leadership is preferred.
