Base Salary

$175k - $190k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, implementation, and evolution of critical cloud, mobile, and internal software systems.
  • Design, test, and ship features used by customers, installers, manufacturing, and operations teams.
  • Own and expand data pipelines and cloud systems supporting fleet visibility, analytics, and virtual power plant programs.
  • Partner with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and product teams to integrate software with physical devices and real-world workflows.
  • Refine requirements and balance user needs, complexity, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Partner with engineering leadership on technical direction and prioritization.
  • Support mobile releases and QA through automation and repeatable processes.
  • Contribute to code reviews and mentor other engineers through hands-on collaboration.
  • Participate in occasional on-call incident response outside normal business hours.

Requirements

  • Professional software development experience, ideally in a small or growing startup.
  • Ability to independently drive ambiguous technical problems from definition through execution.
  • Experience designing and building cloud-based systems, distributed systems, and data pipelines using AWS or a similar platform.
  • Experience with TypeScript and/or Python, React-based frontends, SQL, and database-backed systems.
  • Experience building production-quality systems with emphasis on reliability, automated testing, and long-term ownership.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and non-technical teams and communicate clearly.
  • Bonus: React Native or mobile application development experience.
  • Bonus: Experience working in or alongside Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Bonus: Experience building IoT-connected systems or working with device data.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with embedded software concepts such as C/C++ or hardware-adjacent systems.
  • Bonus: Experience with protobufs, RPC frameworks, or event-driven architectures.
  • Bonus: Prior experience working at a hardware company.
