Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, scalable software solutions for complex, multi-sprint projects.
- Lead technical design, architecture discussions, and cross-team technical alignment.
- Own major features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Drive engineering best practices, automated testing, CI/CD improvements, and AI-assisted development practices.
- Mentor and coach IC1 and IC2 engineers through pairing, code reviews, and technical guidance.
- Own the operational health and reliability of team systems, including incident response and post-mortems.
- Identify and lead initiatives addressing technical debt, risks, process improvements, and developer experience.
- Create technical documentation such as design documents, ADRs, and runbooks.
- Represent the team’s technical perspective in cross-team planning and discussions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated growth in scope and complexity.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals covering data structures, algorithms, design patterns, system design, and distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language and the ability to learn new languages, frameworks, and paradigms quickly.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software systems across technology stacks.
- Experience with TDD/BDD, CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing, cloud-native concepts, infrastructure patterns, and platform-level thinking.
- Experience with data modeling, query optimization, database paradigms, API design, service-oriented architectures, event-driven patterns, and integration strategies.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident management.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted and AI-driven development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code.
- Preferred experience includes multiple production technology stacks, containerization, orchestration, infrastructure as code, cross-team initiatives, automotive/DMS/SaaS domains, agentic coding, multi-agent systems, prompt engineering, AI enablement, or SAFe/Agile certifications.
- Strong communication, mentoring, consensus-building, product sense, ownership, and decision-making skills.
