Base Salary
$281k - $356k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop the end-to-end strategy for next-generation machine learning evaluation metrics with scientific and statistical rigor.
- Architect and build scalable systems for training and fine-tuning large-scale generative models that produce and evaluate driving behaviors.
- Design, implement, and iterate on reinforcement learning algorithms, reward functions, and training paradigms for high-fidelity driving behaviors.
- Develop deep learning and generative AI solutions using LLMs and VLMs to support human triage, workflow automation, and anomaly analysis.
- Develop an RLHF-based data collection and evaluation system.
- Provide technical mentorship, guidance, and thought leadership to engineers.
- Align Driver Understanding, Simulation, System Engineering, Research, and Onboard Software teams around a cohesive evaluation strategy.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience developing and applying machine learning models, with significant reinforcement learning experience.
- Expertise in deep learning, sequence modeling, and generative models.
- Strong publication record or impactful project delivery in reinforcement learning or related areas.
- Proficiency in Python and standard machine learning frameworks such as JAX and TensorFlow.
- Experience with large-scale distributed training and data processing.
- Ability to lead complex and ambiguous technical projects from conception to completion.
- Preferred: 10+ years of relevant ML/RL research and application experience.
- Preferred: Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or complex simulation environments.
- Preferred: Knowledge of state-of-the-art reinforcement learning techniques, including methods for fine-tuning large models using human feedback or preferences.
- Preferred: Experience with large-scale simulation platforms and ML training workflow integration.
- Preferred: Experience designing and using metrics to evaluate complex AI systems.
- Preferred: Technical leadership experience, stakeholder influence, cross-team innovation, and strong communication skills.
