Base Salary

$163k - $271k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for Windows platform development related to Snapdragon Windows platforms and SoCs.
  • Lead development of complex Windows features and subsystems, including drivers, hypervisor and virtualization, security, memory, storage, buses, peripherals, power, and thermal functionality.
  • Lead platform initiatives involving System BIOS, UEFI, ACPI, drivers, applications, loose-leaf driver architecture, OS compatibility, and enterprise security features.
  • Define requirements, develop high-level designs, build hands-on prototypes, and guide software architecture and implementation.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks related to software robustness, security, compliance, performance, and product delivery.
  • Drive technical initiatives, product roadmaps, platform efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with development leads, software and hardware architects, project engineers, product managers, customer engineers, OEMs, and external partners.
  • Participate in design reviews, resolve technical challenges, and maintain high standards of software development quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 6+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master's degree with 5+ years or a PhD with 4+ years.
  • 3+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Windows OS concepts, including the kernel, drivers, APIs, power management, performance, security, and system architecture.
  • Expert experience developing Microsoft Windows device drivers, including WHQL certification, Windows HLK, Windows Update processes, development frameworks, toolchains, and the surrounding ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge of heterogeneous CPU and SoC architecture, PC/client platforms, OEM/ODM product development, and the broader PC ecosystem.
  • Experience optimizing Windows OS and SoC power and performance and enhancing hardware, firmware, and BSP components.
  • Expert-level programming ability in C, C++, C#, Python, and other Windows technologies.
  • Experience with software security, performance tuning, system architecture, release, and maintenance for Windows.
  • Strong knowledge of ARM architecture and software ecosystems.
  • Extensive software engineering experience with a proven record of leading teams through full software development lifecycles.
  • Strong technical leadership, product-oriented strategy execution, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • A master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; the posting also lists 15 years of software engineering experience as a preferred qualification.
