$105k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize the 5G NR gNB physical layer in compliance with 3GPP standards.
- Implement PHY algorithms for channel estimation, equalization, beamforming, MIMO, and decoding.
- Develop DSP, FPGA, and GPU implementations for real-time signal processing.
- Develop and optimize the L1-L2 interface for high-performance data processing.
- Analyze PHY performance with system engineers and identify improvement opportunities.
- Conduct unit and integration testing, debugging, and performance tuning of PHY software and firmware.
- Optimize PHY processing for latency, throughput, power efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Integrate PHY implementations with RF front-end components.
- Track 3GPP releases and implement required PHY processing updates.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in 5G NR or LTE PHY layer development, including OFDM and MIMO concepts.
- Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB, and Python for algorithm development and simulation.
- Experience with DSPs, FPGAs, or GPUs for real-time PHY processing.
- Knowledge of 3GPP specifications 38.211, 38.212, 38.213, and 38.214.
- Familiarity with software-defined radio and real-time embedded systems.
- Experience debugging and performance-tuning PHY layer implementations.
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Preferred knowledge of signal-processing libraries such as FFTW.
- Experience with 5G PHY testing and validation tools is advantageous.
