Base Salary
$156k - $234k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define, design, architect, implement, and deliver Slate software for its ecommerce platform.
- Build and operate systems supporting product discovery, vehicle configuration, checkout, payments, order management, fulfillment, and ownership journeys.
- Code and test system components while leading code reviews, design reviews, system testing, functional testing, and integration.
- Make complex technical trade-offs and drive engineering decisions across teams while balancing technical excellence with business priorities.
- Collaborate with UX and product teams to create customer-focused solutions and applications.
- Mentor engineers and support career development on advanced technical issues.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional software development experience building and operating scalable, customer-facing software systems.
- Strong technical leadership experience defining architecture, making complex trade-offs, and driving engineering decisions across teams.
- Experience designing and building reliable, scalable distributed systems, including web services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with modern ecommerce architectures, including headless or composable commerce and product catalog, cart/checkout, payments, order management, and fulfillment integrations.
- Experience integrating third-party platforms and SaaS products through APIs, events, and webhooks.
- Familiarity with marketplace or multi-vendor commerce models and their technical challenges.
- Experience building high-performance customer experiences, including frontend performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and conversion-focused engineering.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity, simplify complex problems, and deliver high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
