Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust software architectures and solutions across Joko’s technology stack.
- Own projects end to end from conception and technical design through production deployment and impact monitoring.
- Solve complex and ambiguous technical problems using practical and innovative approaches.
- Set technical direction, make architecture decisions, lead difficult technical discussions, and mentor engineers.
- Collaborate with Product, Data, and Operations teams to align technical work with company objectives.
- Improve engineering processes and tools for team efficiency.
- Contribute to user-facing shopping products, customer support systems, fraud detection, AI assistants, and other operational software as needed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience owning complex, ambitious projects from conception through delivery.
- Experience operating at a senior or staff level with responsibility for technical direction.
- Broad, end-to-end technical skills and willingness to work across layers, languages, and domains.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, ownership, and product-oriented skills.
- Evidence of high potential through experience at a top-tier company or project, entrepreneurship, open-source work, conference speaking, meetup organization, or technology community contributions.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; French is not required.
