Base Salary
$114k - $142k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the New Relic query language and gateway stack.
- Collaborate with AI, Visualizations, and Data Processing teams to advance the query language and gateway.
- Build and maintain scalable distributed Java services and petabyte-scale infrastructure.
- Investigate and resolve critical performance, availability, and resiliency issues in a multi-region, multi-cloud, multi-tenant distributed database.
- Own software quality and reliability, participate in the team pager rotation, and provide occasional on-call support.
- Work in an agile, DevOps-oriented environment where the team builds and maintains its own software.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in collaborative software development.
- Firm grasp of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and modern software design and development methodologies.
- Experience working in Java or equivalent experience in an alternative object-oriented language such as C++, C#, or another equivalent language.
- Ability to work deeply with the command line and troubleshoot broken systems.
- Experience or interest in database implementation, distributed systems, and/or query language grammar, compilation, and execution is preferred.
- Experience developing and operating within a 24x7 SaaS business is preferred.
- Experience with observability tools and platforms is preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP is preferred.
- Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker is preferred.
- Ability to work asynchronously in distributed teams is preferred.
