Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles and AI techniques to solve complex problems and build software solutions.
- Work with stakeholders to determine user requirements for features.
- Apply Microsoft’s responsible AI practices to software systems.
- Learn and incorporate new engineering methods and AI/ML techniques.
- Seek feedback and apply internal or industry best practices to improve technical solutions.
- Complete software projects in a cooperative team environment.
- Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operations at scale.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, with at least one semester or term remaining after the internship.
- Alternatively, currently pursuing a master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, with at least one semester or term remaining after the internship.
- Preferred: one year of programming experience in an object-oriented language.
- Preferred: understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and AI/ML concepts.
- Preferred: experience with AI/ML projects, machine learning models, large datasets, or real-world AI solutions.
- Preferred: familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Preferred: experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Microsoft Roo Code, including their strengths and limitations.
