Responsibilities
- Build and deploy software for Stripe’s financial infrastructure and products.
- Learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and collaboration with mentors or subject matter experts.
- Contribute to multi-person coding projects, larger initiatives, and code reviews.
- Lead small projects independently and safely update production systems.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development while rigorously reviewing, refining, and validating outputs.
- Communicate technical work clearly to stakeholders, teammates, and other Stripe employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a directly related field by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience.
- No more than 18 months of professional experience, excluding internship experience.
- Programming experience through side projects or classwork and familiarity with Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, or Go.
- Experience from internships or collaborative multi-person coding projects in a university or professional setting.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems, solve complex technical obstacles, and know when to seek help.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Ability to use AI tools with critical thinking and professional judgment.
- Preferred: specialized knowledge in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or another technical area.
- Preferred: experience with code review, production-system updates, large codebases, and independently leading small projects.
