Base Salary
$183k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own core systems end to end, from schema design and backend APIs to React customer interfaces and production deployment.
- Design and build AI-powered features, agent workflows, and LLM-backed automation for rates, pricing intelligence, and freight booking.
- Identify engineering gaps and inefficiencies, propose solutions, and lead them through production.
- Drive technical designs and align teammates before implementation.
- Mentor P2 engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design feedback.
- Collaborate with product, design, pricing, and operations to build production-ready solutions.
- Deploy frequently and improve reliability through metrics, monitoring, and incident learnings.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production-grade systems with increasing independence.
- Strong full-stack proficiency spanning database and schema design, API contracts, backend services, and frontend architecture.
- Hands-on experience building production software that integrates LLMs into real user workflows, including practical understanding of latency, reliability, prompt fragility, and cost.
- Experience deploying, monitoring, and maintaining production services on AWS.
- Ability to independently identify problems, drive technical design, communicate tradeoffs, and maintain well-tested, well-structured code.
- Preferred experience with Java, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, agentic patterns, RAG, Temporal, logistics, supply chain, freight technology, or pricing systems.
