Base Salary
$90k - $115k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware modules for processor-based systems and ASIC/SoC platforms.
- Implement, integrate, and debug firmware features with guidance from senior engineers.
- Develop and validate drivers and interfaces for I²C, SPI, UART, GPIO, DMA, and related peripherals.
- Participate in RTOS task creation, scheduling, and debugging.
- Support board bring-up, system integration, and validation.
- Collaborate with hardware, ASIC, software, and systems engineering teams.
- Debug firmware and hardware interaction issues using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and related tools.
- Write unit tests, participate in system-level testing, conduct code reviews, and document firmware designs and test results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 0–1 year of embedded-systems or firmware-development experience, including internships, research work, or academic projects.
- Basic C/C++ programming knowledge for embedded systems.
- Understanding of computer architecture, memory systems, interrupts, processor fundamentals, embedded systems, and microcontroller-based design.
- Familiarity with I²C, SPI, UART, GPIO, Ethernet, or similar interfaces, plus Git and software development tools.
- Exposure to IC design, processor design, optical system design, RTOS environments, Python, Linux-based development, debugging tools, software testing, and embedded build workflows.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, verbal communication, learning, and collaboration skills.
