Responsibilities
- Design, train, and deploy large deep learning models using labeled and unlabeled data from Rivian’s vehicle fleet.
- Improve the training infrastructure ecosystem and deployment pipeline to accelerate model iteration and performance.
- Perform large-scale distributed model training and optimize transformer training and inference.
- Profile models and investigate bottlenecks to improve training and inference speed.
- Conduct constructive code reviews enforcing ML engineering standards, security practices, and performance optimization.
Requirements
- PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Deep knowledge of PyTorch.
- Experience with CUDA or Triton for writing custom operations.
- Knowledge of model training frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of transformer architecture and techniques for accelerating transformer training and inference.
- Experience with large-scale distributed model training.
- Demonstrated ability to profile models and improve training and inference speed.
