Responsibilities
- Build OS daemons, frameworks, and SDKs that deliver ads across the Apple ecosystem.
- Implement on-device business logic for fetching, ranking, and filtering ad candidates.
- Enforce advertising policy, legal compliance, and privacy-by-architecture before partner apps render ads.
- Design and operate high-performance client SDKs and libraries at scale, including caching, versioning, breaking-change management, and feature-flagged rollouts.
- Own architecture and technical direction for complex, long-lived and legacy codebases.
- Drive multi-team initiatives and set technical direction across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor and grow senior engineers and communicate technical decisions to non-technical partners.
Requirements
- Deep, expert-level understanding of operating-system fundamentals, including process and memory management, scheduling, and file systems.
- Extensive professional software development experience in a C-like language on systems with significant scale and reliability requirements.
- Expert knowledge of cross-process communication and concurrent programming, including multithreading, synchronization, locking, and production race/deadlock analysis.
- Experience designing and operating high-performance client SDKs or libraries at scale.
- Experience owning architecture and technical direction for complex, long-lived codebases and driving multi-team technical initiatives.
- Ability to operate with significant ambiguity, establish technical direction without a playbook, and align stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring and growing senior engineers, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes ad technology, Apple-platform fundamentals, Swift, Objective-C, public APIs or SDKs for external developers, Core Data, libdispatch, XPC, Swift concurrency, daemons, telemetry and observability, client-server networking, and multi-team technical strategy.
