Responsibilities

  • Provide Site Reliability Engineering support for current and new automation services, including reliability, performance, and uptime.
  • Write, update, and maintain infrastructure and automation code, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code modules, and monitoring and alerting scripts.
  • Serve as the highest escalation point for production incidents, lead root cause analysis, and drive resolution of complex platform issues.
  • Lead design sessions for new services, cluster expansions, and platform improvements.
  • Plan and prioritize personal work while managing, coordinating, and reviewing the work of DevOps Engineers.
  • Act as technical owner for production environments and enforce standards, documentation, and operational best practices.
  • Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in computer science and three years of progressively responsible full-time IT experience, including at least 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity; or a bachelor's degree and four years of qualifying IT experience; or a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and six years of qualifying IT experience.
  • All candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of qualifying IT experience, including 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience.
  • Qualifying IT experience may include applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing, or user services.
  • Undergraduate or graduate credits may substitute for limited portions of required IT experience, but not for the required 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience.
  • Applicants must be permanent employees in the title or reachable on the current civil service list; qualified employees in other civil service titles may also submit resumes for consideration.
