Responsibilities
- Design high-availability and scalable data architectures for global applications.
- Use Terraform for provisioning cloud resources and Chef for configuration management.
- Develop PowerShell modules to automate complex database lifecycle tasks.
- Act as the final point of escalation for SQL Server performance tuning.
- Implement modernization plans to migrate SQL Server workloads to PaaS.
- Establish SLIs/SLOs for database health and create automated self-healing mechanisms.
Requirements
- 10+ years of expertise in SQL Server (2016-2022) with a deep understanding of its internals.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerShell, Chef, and Terraform for automation.
- Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server administration related to SQL Server.
- Experience managing database workloads in major cloud providers, preferably AWS or GCP.
- Ability to design complex systems balancing performance and cost-efficiency.
