Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop secure REST APIs, integration services, background processes, and reusable components using .NET and C#.
  • Define interface contracts, canonical data structures, validation rules, error models, idempotency controls, and versioning approaches.
  • Implement data integration across SQL Server, Azure services, messaging systems, batch processes, SFTP, and managed file transfer.
  • Use Python for data transformation, reconciliation, automation, testing utilities, and operational tooling.
  • Apply authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, certificate handling, network controls, and least-privilege principles.
  • Build recoverable error handling, retry, dead-letter, replay, correlation, and reconciliation capabilities.
  • Develop automated unit, component, contract, integration, performance, and regression tests.
  • Implement structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Establish data mappings, quality rules, lineage, retention, and authoritative-source expectations with data owners and consumers.
  • Analyze and tune API, database, messaging, and batch performance across throughput, latency, concurrency, and capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate on cloud migration, Azure PaaS patterns, network connectivity, deployment pipelines, and reusable integration standards.
  • Troubleshoot defects and production incidents across application, API, database, identity, network, and vendor boundaries, including root-cause analysis.
  • Participate in refinement, design reviews, coding, peer review, testing, deployment, release validation, and production support.
  • Lead code and design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute patterns, libraries, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and training.
  • In-depth information-systems knowledge and the ability to apply IT best practices.
  • Advanced .NET and C# development experience for APIs, services, background workers, and integration components.
  • Experience with RESTful API design, OpenAPI contracts, versioning, pagination, idempotency, throttling, security, and lifecycle management.
  • SQL Server experience including data modeling, querying, performance tuning, transactions, reconciliation, and data-quality controls.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Azure PaaS, API, messaging, identity, secrets, monitoring, storage, and deployment capabilities.
  • Experience with data mapping, transformation, validation, enrichment, lineage, reference data, batch orchestration, and recoverable exception processing.
  • Experience with asynchronous messaging, queues or topics, delivery semantics, correlation, ordering, replay, and dead-letter handling.
  • Experience with secure SFTP or managed file transfer, encryption, control totals, acknowledgements, reconciliation, and vendor interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of Python, Node.js, and AWS for integration, cloud, serverless, event-handling, monitoring, or operational use cases.
  • Experience with automated contract testing, observability, performance testing, data reconciliation, or low-code and workflow platforms is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Wealth, Brokerage, Trust, banking, financial services, regulated industries, or third-party platform integration is preferred.
  • Microsoft Azure, .NET, API, data engineering, or security certification is preferred.
  • Ability to independently own work through production support and provide technical leadership through design guidance, code review, documentation, and mentoring.

  • This is a regular, non-temporary position with a first-shift schedule in the United States.
  • The stated annual base salary ranges are $105,000–$144,000 in Richmond and $108,000–$149,000 in Charlotte.
