Responsibilities
- Design, build, scale, and operate ByteDance’s global infrastructure across large-scale public and private cloud systems.
- Develop automation frameworks, operational tools, visualizations, and monitoring systems to improve infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
- Create, manage, and standardize cloud AMIs and images across multiple environments in compliance with global standards.
- Participate in technical operations and on-call rotations, responding to cloud, operating system, network, performance, and reliability incidents.
- Drive infrastructure improvements from design and development through deployment, support, and continuous refinement.
- Contribute to reliability initiatives including monitoring, alerting, capacity management, change management, canary or gray releases, incident response, and postmortems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Linux operations, site reliability engineering, or DevOps.
- Proficiency in at least one of Go, Python, or C++, with strong capabilities in platform development, system tooling, and automation.
- Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, computer networks, storage systems, GPU systems, and databases, along with systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience operating public cloud platforms or familiarity with OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Preferred experience with cloud host delivery, AMI systems, resource scheduling, network adaptation, KVM/QEMU, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerd.
- Preferred experience maintaining GPU clusters, including drivers, CUDA, MIG, topology awareness, troubleshooting, stress testing, and GPU delivery pipelines.
- Large-scale production operations, reliability initiatives, open-source contributions, technical writing, patents, or technical presentations are advantageous.
