Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex enterprise-scale Java applications, backend services, full-stack features, APIs, and data models.
- Lead technical direction for modules and subsystems while remaining hands-on in implementation.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic Java applications into modular, cloud-ready, and microservices-based architectures.
- Contribute to application and solution architecture, design patterns, technical trade-off analysis, and maintainable codebases.
- Build and integrate RESTful, file-based, and message-based services and support analytical data processing workflows.
- Support frontend teams using Angular or React by delivering robust backend APIs.
- Perform unit testing, mocking, static code analysis, performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and global stakeholders throughout development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineers across teams.
Requirements
- MCA or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring or Spring Boot, RESTful API design, Eclipse RCP, SQL, Angular, React, and MongoDB.
- Experience with microservices, Hibernate or JPA, transaction management, API-based, file-based, and message-based integrations.
- Experience with software design patterns, layered or hexagonal architectures, object-oriented design, clean coding, and performance optimization.
- Strong experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Knowledge of performance profiling, memory analysis, Azure cloud-native development, Docker, Azure DevOps, and cloud platforms.
- Understanding of Maven or Gradle, CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, deployments, and testing.
- Experience with product development environments and Product Development Lifecycle practices.
- Strong understanding of Lean Agile or Scrum methodologies, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exposure to event-driven or message-based systems, Azure Service Bus, shipping or logistics workflows, scientific data processing, genomics, or laboratory systems is advantageous.
