Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and implementation of core React Native features, including native modules and bridges.
- Collaborate with design and product to make product trade-offs and ship high-impact features.
- Use AI tools such as Claude and Cursor to improve development quality and speed while maintaining readable, tested code.
- Improve mobile application performance across the Halter app.
- Build resilient offline-first flows and graceful error handling for field conditions.
- Evolve mobile design systems and UI patterns.
- Raise engineering standards through code reviews, pairing, and mentoring.
Requirements
- Deep React Native expertise and strong opinions on mobile architecture, including navigation, state, and module boundaries.
- Product-focused engineering mindset with experience designing stable native bridges and knowing when to use native development.
- Experience shipping complex React Native applications in cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of mobile performance, accessibility, testing, and maintainability.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
- Experience with CodePush, large-scale App Store releases, design systems, and mentoring mobile engineers is preferred.
- A degree is a bonus but is not required.
