Base Salary
$119k - $204k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap for xEV propulsion controls, embedded software, calibration development, and E/E systems architecture.
- Lead development of traction inverter controls, electric motor control, battery management integration, drivability, charging, thermal management, diagnostics, and scalable software architectures.
- Define system requirements, control strategies, software architecture, and interface specifications.
- Lead xEV E/E software and controls efforts across systems engineering, calibration, integration, validation, and platform teams.
- Deliver software and ECUs through design reviews, configuration management, supplier collaboration, quality initiatives, and cost improvement plans.
- Drive integration with chassis, braking, ADAS, body electronics, and telematics systems.
- Represent xEV controls and software in business and product strategy and make technical decisions for vehicle systems.
- Coach junior engineers and provide technical leadership across cross-functional engineering teams.
- Support department budgets, operating-cost forecasts, project budget requests, technical proposals, reports, and presentations.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, internal teams, and external resources to resolve complex technical issues.
- Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, production support, engineering analysis, and component selection.
- Research and propose new technologies for improved products and maintain technical project documentation.
Requirements
- Accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of related experience.
- Preferred master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Preferred 5–10+ years designing, developing, validating, and launching light-duty automotive or heavy-truck on-road xEV vehicles.
- Preferred 7–10+ years of cross-functional experience across automotive product lifecycle activities, including vehicle-level validation, launch, and field support.
- Experience with automotive E/E architecture, ECU hardware, sensors, actuators, software, calibration, CAN, UDS, and configuration management.
- Familiarity with Canalyzer, ETAS INCA, Vector CANape, Atlassian Jira, and Jama.
- Prior experience leading engineering teams and experience with functional safety, cybersecurity, and systems engineering.
