Responsibilities
- Establish engineering best practices, patterns, and a culture of engineering excellence.
- Drive high-impact projects and scalable system designs from ideation through execution and launch.
- Build backend pipelines and services that use rider context and signals to select relevant offers.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to support their growth.
- Promote AI tools and best practices that improve engineering productivity.
- Write well-tested, readable, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
- Participate in on-call rotation, including issue triage, debugging, and resolution across applications and platforms.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software engineering or production infrastructure industry experience.
- Experience with Python and Go.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, distributed systems, and databases such as PostgreSQL or DynamoDB.
- Proficiency using AI tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor in coding and engineering workflows.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and experience with data structures or algorithms.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional team.
- Experience with real-time ML model serving, recommendation or ranking systems, feature stores, or online/offline experimentation frameworks is preferred.
