Responsibilities
- Integrate, configure, validate, and deploy Auterion-powered drone systems across hardware, firmware, software, production, operations, and quality functions.
- Manage software releases and perform firmware flashing, vehicle configuration, sensor calibration, ESC tuning, and system bring-up using PX4 or adjacent autopilot ecosystems.
- Provide avionics and airframe expertise covering autopilot tuning, sensor and payload integration, power systems, and airworthiness considerations.
- Troubleshoot integration, flight-readiness, stability, safety, and mission-performance issues during flight tests, customer trials, demonstrations, and field deployments.
- Translate customer mission requirements into system architectures and demonstrable solutions built on AuterionOS and Skynode.
- Act as the primary technical authority in customer engagements and communicate customer and market requirements to product and engineering teams.
- Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Software, Aviation, Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; an M.Sc. is optional.
- Experience working with autopilots, ideally PX4, including firmware flashing, vehicle configuration, mission planning and navigation software, and flight validation.
- Familiarity with UAV flight testing, system validation, and troubleshooting in real-world operational environments is preferred.
- Understanding of control theory, flight control, manufacturing, and quality-control best practices.
- Basic mechanical system and design experience, fundamental electronics knowledge, and ability to read wiring diagrams.
- Understanding of embedded communication protocols, computer networking, firmware debugging, and hardware-software integration.
- Proficiency in C/C++; Python and MAVLink experience are preferred.
- Familiarity with Linux-based development and debugging environments, including Docker.
- Ability to lead technical customer engagements, live demonstrations, field troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong independent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
- Willingness to travel for on-site integration, testing, and deployment activities.
