Responsibilities
- Build extremely large-scale platform products and services for Roku engineers and consumers.
- Collaborate with Product/Design teams to iterate and build software from concept to production.
- Lead efforts to evaluate new technologies and enforce best practices in development.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Participate in the Agile development process, including scoping, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.
Requirements
- Strong software development experience, preferably in Java (Python is a plus).
- Expertise in building large-scale cloud services, ideally in AWS.
- Experience in selecting appropriate data stores and analyzing trade-offs.
- Familiarity with in-memory caching layers such as Redis or Memcached.
- Ability to monitor deploy quality and troubleshoot production systems.
- Understanding of end-to-end web architecture from user devices to data centers.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
