Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines in Palantir’s Maven Smart Systems to ingest, validate, structure, and optimize mission datasets.
- Design and implement AI/ML workflows, including feature engineering, model evaluation, and preparation of model outputs for operational use.
- Develop analytic tools, visualizations, and user-facing applications for Special Operations resourcing analysis.
- Prototype, test, document, and help transition machine-learning models into stable platform-ready components.
- Integrate ML and analytic components into MSS ontologies and operational workflows while following access controls and deployment practices.
- Work with mission analysts to translate operational questions into technical tasks and support data governance, documentation, version control, and technical exchanges.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance are required.
- Applicants must remain actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree program for the duration of the internship and be pursuing a bachelor’s degree as a junior or senior at a local accredited university.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA is required.
- Experience working in groups and software design or software application experience are required.
- Interest in artificial intelligence, AI/ML development, and personal AI/ML projects is expected.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, independent-work, teamwork, and adaptability skills are required.
- Security clearance is preferred but not required.
Benefits
- Paid at $18.50 per hour.
- 20 hours per week during Fall/Spring semesters and 29 hours per week during the Summer semester.
- Estimated start date is November 2026 or January 2027, with an end date of May 2027 and possible extension to December 2027.
- In-person in Tampa, Florida, at MacDill Air Force Base, with limited remote work opportunities.
- A letter of recommendation may be provided upon request.
