Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain GitLab CI/CD or comparable pipelines for enterprise applications, including testing, packaging, deployment, promotion, rollback, and post-release verification.
  • Develop reusable Python-based automation, scripts, integrations, templates, runbooks, and enablement materials.
  • Define CI/CD patterns, environment promotion strategies, branching and versioning standards, release cadences, and rollback practices for Salesforce, Zuora, and other Business Systems.
  • Implement quality gates, automated checks, approvals, audit trails, policy controls, configuration management, and deployment sequencing.
  • Improve release observability through deployment dashboards, pipeline metrics, change records, notifications, and operational reporting.
  • Investigate deployment and pipeline failures, lead root-cause analysis, and implement durable corrective actions.
  • Coordinate release calendars, change planning, blackout periods, and risk-based release decisions.
  • Coach engineers and application teams on CI/CD, release automation, branching strategies, testing, and operational readiness.
  • Use approved AI-assisted engineering tools daily for pipeline development, scripting, test creation, troubleshooting, documentation, release analysis, and operational automation.
  • Collaborate with application owners, development teams, security, compliance, architecture, and enterprise application stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in release engineering, DevOps, or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing releases and deployments for enterprise SaaS applications such as Salesforce, Zuora, or other Business Systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and operating GitLab CI/CD or comparable production CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python and the ability to write maintainable automation and integrations.
  • Mandatory hands-on experience using AI-assisted development and automation tools such as Claude or comparable enterprise-approved tools in daily DevOps and release engineering work.
  • Experience with branching and merging strategies, artifact management, automated testing, deployment orchestration, rollback practices, and multi-environment releases.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication patterns, and integration troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing configuration, dependencies, access controls, auditability, deployment issues, integration defects, and environment inconsistencies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, business, security, compliance, and operations teams.
