Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and roadmap of the hardware simulator, including accuracy, performance, and support for new hardware features.
  • Ensure simulator behavior, state, and memory semantics are sufficiently trustworthy for compiler and runtime development.
  • Build debuggers, tracers, profilers, benchmarks, and workload traces for LLM inference.
  • Partner with design verification and bring-up teams to correlate the simulator with RTL, FPGA prototypes, and silicon.
  • Make tradeoffs among simulator fidelity, speed, and tooling investment and communicate them to compiler and hardware teams.

Requirements

  • Experience building or leading development of cycle-accurate or functional hardware simulators for ASICs or novel compute architectures.
  • Experience building debuggers, tracers, or profilers adopted by other engineers.
  • Systems and compiler context sufficient to simulate software running on hardware as well as the hardware itself.
  • Ability to work with evolving hardware and evolve the simulator accordingly.
  • Fluency in C++ or Rust and familiarity with Python.
  • Preferred experience with in-memory compute or non-von-Neumann architectures, simulation-driven architectural or compiler decisions, open-source simulation or hardware-tooling communities, and pre- and post-silicon workflows.

About Normal Computing Corporation

51-200 employees

At Normal, we're rewriting AI foundations to advance the frontier of reasoning and reliability in the physical world. We are tackling problems across semiconductors and industrials with a mix of interdisciplinary approaches across the full stack: from probabilistic software infrastructure and algorithms to hardware and physics, enabling AI that can reason and understand its own limits. We understand that our technology is only as powerful as the people behind it. Every employee drives significant impact within our products, often working directly with customers and embedding across our tightly-knit team. Our team members are driven by curiosity and passion for solving some of the most challenging problems in the world of atoms. Normal was founded in 2022 by engineers and scientists that pioneered industry-leading Physics + ML tools for next-gen AI at Google Brain and Google X.
