Responsibilities
- Develop abstractions, infrastructure, interfaces, services, pipelines, ML recipes, evaluations, and integrations for machine learning systems.
- Build features that train, test, validate, scale, and optimize machine learning algorithms, including data cleaning, model training, and hyperparameter tuning at distributed scale.
- Work with stakeholders to understand customer and user requirements and incorporate customer-inspired innovations into software.
- Create test strategies, execute test plans, and build maintainable, testable product feature code.
- Review code for test coverage and standards, and implement debugging tools, tests, logs, and telemetry.
- Automate production deployment with a goal of zero-touch operation where possible.
- Apply security best practices and security hardening across product features.
- Take holistic ownership of features while collaborating with data scientists and developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, plus 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C#, Java, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Experience using AI agents and tools in day-to-day work.
- Experience writing production code for internet-scale services and distributed systems.
- Ability to debug, read code, and work on a large and growing codebase.
- Experience with AI/ML internals is preferred.
- Knowledge of machine learning systems and data pipelines is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with developers and stakeholders and work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
