Responsibilities
- Develop secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises solution architectures.
- Establish reusable cloud architecture patterns, reference designs, standards, governance policies, and implementation guardrails.
- Evaluate workloads and recommend migration approaches including rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, replacing, retaining, or retiring applications.
- Design enterprise integration patterns, architecture diagrams, data flows, interface specifications, deployment models, and implementation roadmaps.
- Partner with data and analytics teams on data platforms, pipelines, lakes, lakehouses, warehouses, business intelligence, and AI architecture.
- Embed cybersecurity, privacy, regulatory, risk-management, identity, encryption, logging, vulnerability-management, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity requirements into designs.
- Provide architectural guidance through requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations transition.
- Lead design workshops, communicate with technical and executive stakeholders, review deliverables, and support complex cross-platform troubleshooting.
- Evaluate cloud platforms, software products, implementation partners, and managed service providers and support vendor selection and technical due diligence.
- Monitor cloud consumption and recommend improvements to performance, licensing, and operating costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least seven years of experience in technology architecture, infrastructure, application development, systems integration, cloud engineering, or a related field.
- At least three years of direct experience designing and implementing cloud or hybrid-cloud solutions.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, identity and access management, security, storage, compute, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Experience integrating cloud platforms with enterprise applications and on-premises systems and understanding of APIs, middleware, data integration, and application integration patterns.
- Ability to develop architecture diagrams, technical specifications, decision documents, and implementation roadmaps.
- Experience collaborating across infrastructure, application, data, cybersecurity, business, and vendor teams.
- Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills, including communication with executive and business audiences.
- Preferred qualifications include Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Microsoft Entra ID, manufacturing or distribution experience, legacy application modernization, infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, containers, Kubernetes, cloud automation, data lakehouse and governance concepts, FinOps, and relevant cloud or architecture certification.
