Base Salary
$135k - $189k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support production software for data-platform services, pipelines, and automation workflows.
- Build observable, maintainable services and integrations using code review, automated testing, version control, and documentation.
- Partner with data engineers, analytics teams, platform owners, and internal customers to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
- Monitor services, troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable corrective actions.
- Improve developer and user experience through automation, reusable tooling, clear interfaces, and simplified operational work.
- Participate in design reviews and communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, progress, and dependencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software-development experience building, testing, and maintaining production software.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Java, Scala, C#, Go, or TypeScript.
- Proficiency with Large Language Models for code generation, debugging, and development assistance.
- Knowledge of software-development fundamentals including object-oriented or functional design, APIs, data structures, source control, automated testing, and debugging.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational or distributed data systems.
- Ability to investigate ambiguous technical issues, decompose work, and communicate with technical and non-technical partners.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Databricks, Apache Airflow, Dagster, dbt, Tableau, cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, infrastructure as code, observability, resilient integrations, event-driven systems, data governance, and technical documentation.
