Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements for video streaming over Wi-Fi and other wireless technologies.
- Research Wi-Fi module and controller solutions and develop architectural solutions for wireless connectivity and video streaming.
- Select Wi-Fi subsystem components, bring up EVK/EVB boards, and test vendor SDKs.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on circuit design, antenna solutions, and related components.
- Develop and integrate hardware-dependent BSP modules for network subsystem components.
- Perform hardware bring-up and debugging of prototypes and final devices.
- Define protocols and software interfaces with the device Firmware team, including firmware update mechanisms.
- Diagnose Wi-Fi subsystem issues and troubleshoot network stack protocols.
- Participate in debugging, optimization, and releases of final devices and firmware.
- Collaborate with QA on requirements and test-case development.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on Embedded Linux development experience, including U-Boot, ARM toolchains, Kernel, RootFS, and BusyBox.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and video streaming protocols, primarily RTP/RTSP.
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and debugging TCP/IP stacks with tcpdump, Wireshark, iperf, and netstat.
- Experience with Device Tree and udev configuration.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and shell scripting, plus Git and Make.
- Knowledge of digital and analog interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART/TTL, Ethernet, USB, HDMI, MIPI, SATA, and eMMC.
- Knowledge of RF technologies, antenna systems, Wi-Fi Front-End Modules, and IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards.
- Hands-on Wi-Fi stack experience with wpa_supplicant and hostapd, including Station, Access Point, and Mesh modes.
- Experience with NetworkManager, Netplan, systemd-networkd, Wi-Fi driver integration, SDIO and USB modules, DFU, and OTA.
- Preferred experience includes video streaming, HEVC, H.264, H.265, OpenWrt, Buildroot, Python, low-power devices, soldering and electronic measurement tools, and PC-based debugging utilities.
