Base Salary

$133k - $190k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Analyze applications and system architectures from inception through release, identify vulnerabilities, conduct threat modeling, and integrate security controls.
  • Conduct security assessments and use AI-assisted testing to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Help mature the vulnerability management program and drive risk-contextualized remediation with development teams.
  • Educate developers on secure coding practices, emerging threats, and security best practices.
  • Collaborate with incident response teams on product-impacting incidents and provide targeted remediation recommendations.
  • Work with software engineers to mature automated SAST and DAST tooling for development frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Security Engineer, Application Security Engineer, or Product Security Engineer in a complex, rapidly scaling software organization.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python and TypeScript, security tools such as Burp Suite and OWASP ZAP, and modern security protocols and encryption methods.
  • Experience implementing AI to identify, validate, and scale security programs.
  • Deep practical knowledge of container security with Kubernetes, compute constraints, ephemeral workloads, AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises environments.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, tuning, and automating SAST, DAST, and CI/CD pipeline security tools.
  • Operational experience configuring cloud security platforms and driving remediation through them.
  • Experience securing large-scale platform migrations and managing security lifecycles for legacy systems and modern microservices.
  • Preferred experience in autonomous vehicle, automotive, aerospace, or defense sectors; physics-based simulation, deterministic computing constraints, or HPC clusters; and open-source security contributions, vulnerability research, or CVE disclosures.
