Base Salary
$133k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze applications and system architectures from inception through release, identify vulnerabilities, conduct architecture reviews and threat modeling, and integrate security controls.
- Conduct security assessments and use AI-assisted testing to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Help mature the vulnerability management program and drive risk-contextualized remediation with development teams.
- Educate developers on secure coding practices, emerging threats, and security best practices.
- Collaborate with incident response teams and provide targeted remediation guidance during product-impacting security incidents.
- Work with software engineers to mature automated SAST and DAST tooling for development frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- At least five years of demonstrable experience as a Security Engineer, Application Security Engineer, or Product Security Engineer in a complex, rapidly scaling software organization.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python and TypeScript.
- Knowledge of security tools such as Burp Suite and OWASP ZAP, along with modern security protocols and encryption methods.
- Experience implementing AI to identify, validate, and scale security programs.
- Deep practical knowledge of Kubernetes container security, compute constraints, and ephemeral workloads across AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises environments.
- Hands-on experience deploying, tuning, and automating SAST, DAST, and CI/CD pipeline security tools.
- Operational experience configuring cloud security platforms and driving remediation.
- Experience securing large-scale platform migrations and managing security lifecycles for legacy systems and modern microservices.
- Preferred experience in autonomous vehicle, automotive, aerospace, or defense sectors.
- Preferred familiarity with physics-based simulation environments, deterministic computing constraints, or HPC clusters.
- Preferred contributions to open-source security tools, published vulnerability research, or recognized vulnerability disclosures such as CVEs.
