Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, performant backend software and cloud infrastructure.
- Define next-generation identity and security architectures and long-term technical and product strategy.
- Lead large-scale architectural initiatives and technical projects involving 20+ engineers across multiple workstreams.
- Develop enterprise software and frameworks using Java and Spring Boot.
- Solve complex distributed-system, performance, scalability, and security challenges.
- Mentor engineers, elevate engineering standards, and create solutions that improve productivity across teams.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Quality, and other cross-functional stakeholders across multiple locations.
Requirements
- 18+ years of software development experience, including at least 12+ years designing and building enterprise-grade Java software at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for enterprise software development.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, server-side technologies, and distributed systems, including caching, asynchronous processing, and multithreading.
- Strong experience with relational databases, ideally MySQL, PostgreSQL, or GraphDB.
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex Java codebases.
- Experience with AWS and GCP cloud infrastructure platforms.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Prior experience as an Architect or Technical Lead leading large-scale architectural initiatives.
- Understanding of IAM protocols including FIDO, WebAuthn, SSO, SAML, OAuth, SCIM, and OpenID Connect is preferred.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure coding practices, and certifications such as CISSP or Security+ is preferred.
- Some experience with JavaScript frameworks and basic UI development is preferred.
- Prior experience building teams from the ground up is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
