Base Salary
$99k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Conduct customer discovery and needs analysis for software solution opportunities in partnership with Account Managers.
- Prepare and deliver tailored technical presentations, software demonstrations, and sales discussions.
- Explain Elsevier product value propositions and respond to technical customer questions.
- Lead technical portions of tender requirements and responses in coordination with the tender team.
- Design software solutions and proposals aligned with customer needs, promised functionality, and success metrics.
- Document customer requirements and opportunity information in CRM.
- Collaborate with Product and Marketing on use cases, value propositions, product roadmaps, and client endorsements.
- Support implementation and post-installation activities by handing off customer needs to Implementation and Customer Success teams.
- Help generate referrals and reference customers through strong customer relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, management information systems, or a similar field.
- At least five years of sales experience as a Solution Engineer, Pre-Sales Consultant, or in a similar role.
- Extensive experience selling, servicing, and implementing software systems.
- Proven experience with complex consultative solution sales.
- Excellent software demonstration, presentation, analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to create big-picture software solutions and present ideas in a clean, user-friendly way.
- Fluent English.
- SaaS experience is preferred.
- Publishing expertise and experience with publishing systems and workflows are preferred.
- Experience working in an international matrixed organization is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
