Base Salary
$155k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core backend services and platform components using Go.
- Contribute directly to the open-source OpenTDF project.
- Solve complex challenges involving data security, scalability, and distributed systems.
- Design, deploy, and manage solutions for on-premise, air-gapped, cloud-native, sovereign-cloud, and other complex customer environments using Terraform and GitOps tooling.
- Collaborate on multi-language Go, Java, and JavaScript SDK architecture and implementation.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Write technical design documents and contribute to engineering quality standards.
- Own complex technical projects from design through deployment and use AI coding agents in the development workflow.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with significant backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Go and experience building production-grade, scalable services.
- Experience with monolithic and microservice architectures, gRPC, REST, and distributed systems.
- Production experience designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Practical experience with CI/CD and GitOps pipelines, including Helm or ArgoCD.
- Experience designing and implementing Terraform-based infrastructure as code across multi-cloud environments.
- Ability to independently own complex technical projects from design through deployment.
- Preferred qualifications include deep cryptography and secure key-management knowledge; identity federation experience with OIDC and SAML; experience with on-premise, air-gapped, sovereign-cloud, or bare-metal deployments; ConnectRPC and OCI familiarity; multi-language SDK development; open-source contributions; and experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, or Rust.
