Responsibilities

Conduct curiosity-driven, internationally competitive research in Software Engineering and related interdisciplinary areas.
Develop research that bridges Software Engineering with Quantum Computing and/or Artificial Intelligence.
Publish high-quality research and demonstrate independent scholarly output.
Attract external research funding and develop a three-year research and funding plan.
Collaborate across disciplines, faculties, departments, and international research networks.
Participate actively in DIAS activities, interdisciplinary dialogue, research dissemination, and leadership activities.
Contribute to teaching, supervision, and learning activities with reduced teaching obligations compared with a standard professorship.
Engage with research environments at SDU campuses in Odense, Vejle, and/or Sønderborg as applicable.

PhD or similar degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field by the application deadline.
Strong and promising research profile with publications demonstrating research excellence and broad thinking.
Potential to attract external research funding; experience applying for funding and a strong international network are comparative advantages.
Commitment to interdisciplinary, boundary-crossing research and collaboration.
Fluency in English.

Tenure-track appointment at Assistant Professor level for up to six years, with potential promotion to a permanent Associate Professor position after successful assessment.
Reduced teaching obligations compared with a standard professorship, allowing more time for research and leadership.
Interdisciplinary research environment through DIAS and the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute at SDU.
Employment under the collective agreement for academic staff at Danish universities.
Position based in Vejle and Odense, with regular participation in DIAS activities and interdisciplinary cooperation in Odense.
Expected start date is January 1, 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter.
Some employees may be exempted from time registration following an individual managerial assessment.
