Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the Solutions Automation framework architecture, design patterns, technology selections, and integration standards.
- Establish standards for generative-AI use in software development, test generation, triage, and developer tooling.
- Prototype frameworks, architectural patterns, and AI-augmented tools before broader adoption.
- Shape the technical roadmap, coding practices, quality benchmarks, platform scalability, and modernization initiatives.
- Standardize laboratory environments and frameworks across teams.
- Represent the team in technical forums, facilitate architecture reviews, and lead technical workshops.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, pairing, and technical onboarding.
- Support technical hiring by designing interview assessments and evaluating candidates.
- Provide on-call support for operational issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, preferably in software development, automation, and/or testing.
- Experience defining software architecture, framework design, and technical standards for automation or software development teams.
- Ability to work across low-level device or hardware integration through user interfaces.
- Experience integrating generative-AI tooling into software development or test automation workflows.
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native architectures, and software testing principles.
- Ability to define and communicate technical vision and evaluate new technologies, tools, and patterns.
- Strong communication skills with engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
- Product-minded engineering judgment and experience collaborating with product managers or end users.
- Track record of shipping complex technical initiatives end to end.
- U.S. citizenship is required because the position supports a U.S. government contract.
- Preferred experience includes satellite communications, networking or telecommunications, laboratory test environments, internal developer platforms, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD platforms, DevSecOps, AI evaluation frameworks, software management tools, and scaling practices across multiple Agile teams.

- The role follows a hybrid policy requiring at least four days per week, approximately 80%, in an Iridium office.
