Senior Software Engineer, Target Tracking

Responsibilities
- Design and implement multi-target tracking, track fusion, and discrimination algorithms for air and missile threats.
- Develop high-performance real-time software that processes radar sensor data and maintains tracks for dozens to hundreds of simultaneous targets.
- Build and use modeling and simulation environments to validate tracking performance and identify improvements.
- Collaborate with radar engineers and system architects to integrate tracking solutions into defense systems.
- Optimize tracking software for performance-critical environments where milliseconds matter.
- Communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to cross-functional teams, program leadership, and customers.
- Participate in customer demonstrations and field tests to support successful deployment and operational effectiveness.
Requirements
- Eight years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
- A solid foundation in linear algebra, probability, statistics, and/or differential equations.
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including design patterns, testing, version control, and debugging.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with tracking, estimation, filtering, controls, digital signal processing, radar, sensor fusion, high-performance computing, machine learning, databases, web development, and modeling or simulation tools.
- Preferred technologies and experience include Kalman filters, particle filters, multiple hypothesis tracking, multithreading, GPU acceleration, distributed systems, SQL, NoSQL, time-series databases, JavaScript, React, Node.js, MATLAB, and Simulink.
- Experience in agile development environments and an active U.S. Top Secret SCI clearance are preferred.
