Base Salary
$164k - $274k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and architect end-to-end AI/ML capabilities across multiple teams and products.
- Build and optimize production AI/ML features using predictive models, generative AI, and large language models.
- Improve model behavior through model selection, prompting, retrieval, feature engineering, fine-tuning, and retraining.
- Define evaluation metrics, benchmarks, monitoring, safety standards, risk mitigations, and responsible-AI practices.
- Shape technical strategy and roadmaps while balancing performance, latency, cost, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Improve AI/ML training, serving, CI/CD pipelines, standards, patterns, and infrastructure for reliable and observable systems.
- Partner with R&D, Commercial, Product, Legal, and Regulatory stakeholders to align technical direction with company strategy.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and communicate complex methods and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 8–12 years of related experience, or a master’s degree and 5–7 years of equivalent industry experience, or a PhD and 2–4 years of experience.
- Deep, advanced AI/ML expertise with strong computer science fundamentals and extensive hands-on experience with Python and modern AI/ML libraries and frameworks.
- Track record of delivering AI/ML systems to production and operating them reliably at scale, including evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps practices.
- Experience designing scalable cloud-based AI/ML solutions and working with large datasets in distributed environments.
- Strong software engineering and testing standards applied to AI/ML work.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and influence beyond individual projects, including setting direction, driving alignment, and mentoring engineers.
- Responsible-AI mindset with attention to model safety, reliability, and risk in regulated, high-stakes settings.
- Willingness to travel 5–15%.
