Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable cloud-native software architectures on AWS.
- Own features end to end from design and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Contribute to API design supporting web and mobile user experiences.
- Review code and provide feedback focused on quality, maintainability, and consistency.
- Analyze applications and data stores to identify performance, reliability, and scalability improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver marketplace solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python and JavaScript expertise and familiarity with their ecosystems and frameworks.
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience, including Lambda, Cognito, EKS, OpenSearch, Kinesis, S3, SNS, and SQS.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, and recent experience building consumer-facing applications with React.
- Strong background in serverless computing and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
- Hands-on experience designing and consuming REST and GraphQL web services.
- Familiarity with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kinesis, SQS, and SES.
- Experience building modular, extensible, and secure APIs.
- Exposure to contract testing, performance testing, and other quality practices.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies; accessibility experience is a plus.
