Base Salary
$102k - $147k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the design and implementation of defined payroll features and service components through production.
- Implement payroll calculations, data transformations, processing workflows, and regulatory-driven changes with a focus on correctness and auditability.
- Design and improve backend services, APIs, and data models within established architectural patterns.
- Investigate payroll defects and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventative fixes.
- Write, test, review, refactor, and modernize software while improving reliability, performance, logging, monitoring, error handling, and resiliency.
- Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, retrospectives, documentation, and technical discussions.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and platform teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers through pairing, code feedback, and informal coaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
- Deep expertise in one or more of C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Extensive experience with software development practices and design patterns.
- Proficiency with GitHub and JIRA.
- Understanding of cloud technologies and DevOps principles.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is preferred.
- Experience with private and public cloud infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, test automation frameworks, and tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies and experience leading a multidisciplinary room are preferred.
