Responsibilities
- Develop software tools and scripts to automate processes and interface with sensors and applications.
- Design and develop Range Surveillance and Flight Safety software by integrating external sensors and data feeds into a common operating picture.
- Establish and execute software development testing, validation, and verification processes.
- Keep work-in-progress tickets up to date and regularly report on delivery.
- Collaborate with engineers and team members across multiple departments.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of C++ and Python.
- Experience with Git or similar source code management tools.
- Experience with JIRA or a similar issue tracker.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Interest in aerospace, space technology, and innovation.
- Interest or experience in maritime or aviation operations and systems, including Navigation processors, NMEA, AIS, ADS-B, or geospatial datasets, is advantageous.
- Previous software development internship or project experience is advantageous.
- Experience with sensor integration or data processing is advantageous.
- Knowledge of flight safety systems is advantageous.
- Applicants for the New Zealand role must be eligible to access equipment and data regulated by U.S. ITAR requirements.
