Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated functional, integration, end-to-end, installer, upgrade, and regression tests.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate build, test, packaging, artifact creation, and engineering workflows.
- Automate Windows desktop packaging, code signing, publishing, installation validation, upgrade testing, and release-candidate qualification.
- Investigate build, test, installer, application, and environment failures; identify root causes and implement automated solutions.
- Review requirements and user stories, identify quality risks, contribute to test plans, and perform exploratory testing when appropriate.
- Create reusable test utilities, test data, automation components, and automated Windows test environments.
- Participate in release readiness, bug bashes, defect triage, risk assessment, and monitoring of test and pipeline results.
- Improve flaky tests and unreliable pipeline stages and document build, test, and release procedures.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product teams, infrastructure teams, and distributed engineering partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Software development or test automation experience using Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, PowerShell, C#, Java, or a similar language.
- Experience developing automated tests for software applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CloudBees CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of Git and common software development workflows.
- Ability to troubleshoot software, test automation, build, and environment problems.
- Understanding of functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing practices.
- Preferred qualifications include Windows desktop application, Electron, Windows packaging, code signing, software publishing, virtual-machine test environment, enterprise Windows, device-management, corporate proxy, restricted-user configuration, and flaky-test experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative working skills.
