Responsibilities
- Build and improve software and financial infrastructure that supports Stripe’s global business customers.
- Learn unfamiliar systems through independent research, mentorship, and collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Contribute to multi-person coding projects and larger initiatives alongside peers.
- Lead small projects independently and navigate complex technical obstacles.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development while reviewing, refining, and validating outputs with professional judgment.
- Communicate work clearly to stakeholders, team members, and other Stripe employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a directly related field obtained by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience.
- No more than 18 months of professional experience, excluding internship experience.
- Programming experience through side projects, classwork, internships, or collaborative coding projects.
- Familiarity with programming fundamentals; Stripe primarily uses Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and work effectively with mentors or subject matter experts.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Ability to use AI tools with rigorous critical thinking and professional judgment.
- Preferred: specialized knowledge in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or another technical area.
- Preferred: experience with code reviews, safely updating production systems, navigating large codebases, and independently leading small projects.
