Responsibilities
- Design and implement Ubuntu integrations for the latest IoT, desktop, and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
- Partner with silicon companies and customers to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms.
- Provide technical input on system plans, testing strategies, and quality metrics.
- Participate as a technical lead in customer engagements involving complete cloud-to-edge system architectures.
- Help partners integrate applications and SDKs, build device OS images, and optimize applications across Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server.
- Work across Linux kernel, networking, virtualization, graphics, and application technologies to optimize Ubuntu for new silicon.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
- Experience with Linux packaging, including Debian, RPM, and Yocto.
- Experience working with open-source communities and licenses.
- Experience with Python, C, and C++.
- Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
- Preferred experience with UEFI firmware, GPU computing, RDMA/Infiniband, virtualization stacks, graphics stacks, networking, IoT or server security, embedded systems, performance benchmarking and profiling, and Docker, OCI containers, or Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience with GitHub-based CI automation platforms and public speaking.
