Responsibilities
- Independently complete technical projects and lead other engineers.
- Review customer specifications and requirements and develop supporting designs.
- Design and write embedded software code.
- Develop, document, and support testing for products, systems, and subsystems.
- Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments.
- Document component and subsystem specifications.
- Specify and evaluate supplier subsystems and services.
- Apply software engineering and computer science fundamentals to develop, test, and document software solutions.
- Plan and review test cases and participate in software code reviews.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers, systems engineers, software architects, and other technical staff.
- Communicate clearly with company personnel and customers and support the organization’s mission, values, and culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of industry experience delivering high-quality applications.
- Programming experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, and Java.
- Practical experience working with embedded hardware.
- Experience with object-oriented design and development.
- Experience following formal software development processes.
- Experience with Linux/Unix and/or Windows.
- Experience with software version control systems, preferably Git.
- Strong algorithm design, problem-solving, complexity-analysis, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day guidance and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as necessary.
