Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based test automation frameworks for UI, API, backend, and database systems.
- Write reusable Java code using object-oriented programming principles, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
- Develop UI automation using Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, and Page Object Model design patterns.
- Develop API automation and validate RESTful services using Rest Assured or similar technologies.
- Perform backend and database validation using SQL, JDBC, and relational databases.
- Debug application and automation code to identify defects, test failures, and root causes.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, CloudBees, Bitbucket, and Git.
- Contribute to integration, API, functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing and strengthen unit-test coverage.
- Apply TDD and BDD practices where appropriate and collaborate with developers, product owners, and engineering teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in SDET, test automation engineering, software development, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant hands-on experience developing Java-based automation solutions and frameworks.
- Strong Core Java programming skills, including object-oriented programming, collections, data structures, algorithms, exception handling, streams, lambda expressions, multithreading, and concurrency.
- Experience testing complex enterprise applications across UI, API, and backend layers.
- Experience with Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Rest Assured, Maven or Gradle, and dependency management.
- Strong SQL skills and experience validating data against relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, or Snowflake.
- Experience using JDBC or similar database connectivity technologies.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, CloudBees, Bitbucket, and Git.
- Understanding of TDD, BDD, modern software testing practices, debugging, analytical problem-solving, and root-cause analysis.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within an Agile development team.
- Preferred experience with AWS or another cloud environment, Docker, Kubernetes, JMeter, Agile and DevOps environments, and financial-services or other regulated enterprise applications.
