Base Salary
$149k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define cloud security standards, guardrails, reference architectures, objectives, and roadmaps across Engineering.
- Lead cross-functional cloud security initiatives from scope through delivery and represent cloud security in architecture and design forums.
- Own threat modeling, secure-by-default architecture, IAM strategy, least-privilege controls, and cloud security posture assessment across AWS and GCP.
- Design cloud threat detections and SIEM rules, lead cloud incident response and forensics, and codify findings into response playbooks and preventative controls.
- Own and optimize CrowdStrike, Tenable, native cloud security services, and the cloud vulnerability management workflow.
- Set security standards for self-managed Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD automation, patching, base-image hardening, and version management.
- Lead security practices for large-scale distributed systems and self-managed data stores, including MongoDB.
- Mentor and uplevel security and platform engineers through pairing, design review, feedback, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Several years of owning cloud security in production, including on-call responsibility.
- Hands-on AWS experience as the primary cloud, working GCP experience, and experience with self-managed Kubernetes.
- Ability to read and write Python and Terraform.
- Deep experience with secure architecture, threat modeling, cloud IAM, detection engineering, incident response, cloud forensics, Kubernetes security, and platform security.
- Ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional security initiatives and establish standards adopted across Engineering.
- Strong individual contributor leadership, technical influence, mentorship, and communication skills.
